11% of the surface of Iceland is covered with ice. The amount of ice, contained in glaciers, is dependent on anual temperatures and snowfall.It is amazing to experience the power of nature when you find yourself embraced by the giant ice mass. Effects of volcano eruptions are visible where shades of ash decorate the ice landscapes.
